DJI Mavic 4 Pro: Leaks about the most anticipated drone of 2025 📸

When we talk about the best drones and high-end drones, there is one name that always sounds above the rest: DJI. In 2025, the brand is about to launch a new model that could once again revolutionise the market: the long-awaited DJI Mavic 4 Pro.

The 4 Pro is now a reality. DJI’s new drone for 2025 comes with significant improvements in battery life, image quality, flight stability, and safety.

Although it has not yet been officially unveiled, reliable leaks already give us a pretty good idea of what’s to come, and although it will follow the line of its predecessor, the Mavic 3 classic and Mavic 3 Pro, it will be a time of change for the Chinese drone brand.

In this article I tell you everything I’ve found out about the Mavic 4 Pro, from the most innovative features to the estimated release date and possible price. Here’s the lowdown on all the new features, official specs and what you can expect from this machine.

DJI Mavic 4 Pro confirmed rumours and release date

Several sources agree: DJI will launch the Mavic 4 Pro between April and May 2025 📅 .

An official announcement is expected at the end of April, accompanied by advertising teasers that could start circulating a week earlier.

Final name?
Although there are small rumours that DJI may drop the ‘Mavic’ name, most leaks suggest that it will eventually be called the DJI Mavic 4 Pro.

This would maintain the continuity of the successful Mavic family, well known both in the professional sector and among advanced enthusiasts.

Redesigned Mavic 4 Pro design and structural improvements

This type of drone like DJI Mavic 4 Pro drone will go for a cleaner, more aerodynamic aesthetic, inspired by the Mini 4 Pro but with a more robust finish. Just look at the oval head where its cameras are integrated.

With this, DJI is letting us know that the time has come to bet on novelties and changes of trend in its flagship range, the Mavic Pro.

🚀 Some highlights:

  • Magnesium and carbon fibre chassis for lighter weight.
  • New internal cooling system to prevent overheating during long recordings.
  • Redesigned low-noise propellers with improved energy efficiency.
  • More robust folding arms and improved fixing system.

All designed to offer greater range, better manoeuvrability and an even smoother flight experience.

DJI Mavic 4 Pro dimensions and weight

The new design retains the folding essence of the Mavic range, but with more aerodynamic lines and an optimised weight of 1,063 grams, it is definitely not a drone for children.

8% reduction in overall weight compared to the Mavic 3 Pro. By weight it will still be a type of drone that can fly in the open category but does not have the benefits of an unlicensed drone.

Improvements in aerodynamics and efficiency

Thanks to improved aerodynamics and new motors, the Mavic 4 Pro offers increased stability in windy conditions and energy efficiency that enables a record flight time of up to 51 minutes.

Camera system: the quantum leap in quality

One of the most awaited revolutions is its camera system, between the quality of them and my 10 recommendations to take the best photos with a drone you will get all the potential out of this new Mavic 4 Pro.

Hasselblad 100 MP main camera

The heart of the Mavic 4 Pro is its new Hasselblad main camera with a 100 MP 4/3 CMOS sensor.

Leaks confirm:

  • Triple camera module:
    • 24mm (wide angle).50 M P HDR camera, perfect for high contrast situations and complex scenes.
    • 50mm (medium telephoto). 48 MP telephoto lens with optical zoom, ideal for capturing details from a distance.
    • 145mm (super optical zoom), which could help you in jobs where a fine zoom is required such as technical building inspections, construction site monitoring.
  • Video recording:
    • 6K to 60fps
    • 4K at 120fps in slow motion
    • HDR, D-Log, 10bit support.
  • Built-in electronic ND filter, eliminating the need for physical filters.

New: Native portrait recording, ideal for social media content creators, without the need for subsequent cropping.

Infinity Gimbal: creativity without limits

The new Infinity gimbal allows:

  • Full 360° horizontal rotation
  • Upward recordings with a maximum angle of 70 degrees
  • Improved stability even in aggressive manoeuvres

This innovation opens up a new dimension for creative shots previously only available on professional film drones. A quality designed for aerial photography and film professionals.

Flying performance: faster, higher and further away

Speed and wind resistance

The drone reaches:

  • Maximum speed: 25 m/s in Sport mode
  • Wind resistance: 12 m/s

Ideal for recording in extreme conditions.

Maximum height and transmission range

  • Maximum take-off altitude: 6,000 metres
  • Transmission range: up to 30 km in FCC and 15 km in Europe

A real beast in terms of connectivity and operational range.

🕒 Autonomy and battery life: record-breaking

Another dramatic leap forward will be autonomy:

  • Estimated flight time: 50-52 minutes, which will be very useful for jobs that require a long flight time, such as photogrammetry with drones.
  • Battery type: 95.3 Wh Li-Po 4S.

This improvement would make the DJI Mavic 4 Pro the longest running consumer camera drone on the market.

It has also been leaked that it will include a new intelligent battery management system, which will optimise charging cycles and extend battery life.

Safety and obstacle detection: the safest drone from DJI

Improved omni-directional sensing, Artificial Intelligence and flight sensors

The Mavic 4 Pro will feature radical improvements in navigation and safety 🧠:

  • Fisheye vision (for side, front, rear and top detection)
  • Front LiDAR system (accurate detection even in complete darkness)
  • Six-way collision sensors plus LiDAR system for advanced detection.
  • ActiveTrack 6.0+: Intelligent tracking even between complex obstacles.
  • APAS 6.0: Automatic route planning for obstacle avoidance in flight.

New autonomous flight modes

With the new obstacle detection, the drone can perform:

  • Safe night flights using LiDAR sensor when light is insufficient
  • Intelligent routing with automatic obstacle avoidance

OcuSync 4+ transmission system and new control system

New DJI RC Pro 2

The drone will be compatible with the new DJI RC Pro 2, which includes:

  • Higher brightness display
  • Better tactile response
  • New OcuSync 4.0+ transmission system

📡 For video transmission and long-distance control:

  • System: OcuSync 4+, with a range of up to 40 kilometres (under optimal conditions).

The flight experience will be more immersive and stable, even in environments with a lot of interference. This combination will make the Mavic 4 Pro the safest and most autonomous DJI drone to date.

🎥 Standard version vs Cinema version

All three cameras support D-Log and Apple ProRes recording, offering maximum flexibility in post-production.
