Lenses for filming weddings
Sony 24–70 mm f/2.8 GM II
This will be my next big purchase. I’m still renting it out at the moment, and I’ve got it booked for the next three weddings. Once the rental ‘voucher’ runs out, I’ll definitely buy it.
The Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II lens is a premium, ultra-sharp and versatile lens. Ideal for all-day shooting: from wide shots to close-ups, without the need to change lenses. It is ideal for wedding videos as it allows you to get close to the ceremony without invading ‘off-limits’ areas, leaving space for the event to unfold normally without interfering or stealing the limelight. This lens is the second step in my wedding video recording equipment.

Sony 35mm f/1.8
A versatile, lightweight and very bright fixed lens. The Sony 35mm f/1.8 allows me to work with a shallow depth of field, ideal for natural portraits and intimate shots during preparations or the ceremony.
- Teleobjetivo rápido
- El vidrio ED compensa las aberraciones
- Apertura circular con nueve hojas para lograr efectos de desenfoque atractivos, distancia mínima de enfoque de 0,8 m

Sony 10-18mm f/4 (APS-C)
Although it is an APS-C lens, I use the 10-18mm f/4 with cropping to avoid black corners from 12mm onwards. It gives me that extra width when I need to show scenes, decorations or the entire space of the location.

Stabiliser: Zhiyun Weebill-S
The Zhiyun Weebill-S is my trusted gimbal. Compact, powerful and comfortable for long days, it allows me to record smooth, vibration-free footage, even when walking or following my partner.
It is perfect for long working days due to its low weight. At events such as weddings and corporate events where I have carried it for long periods of time, its light weight is appreciated compared to other more sophisticated gimbals.
It has different modes of use, making it extremely versatile:
- PF – Pan Follow (Panoramic tracking)
- The pan axis follows the movement of the handle.
- The tilt and roll axes remain fixed.
- Ideal for smooth tracking shots.
- L – Lock
- All axles are locked in a fixed direction.
- The gimbal keeps the camera pointing in the same direction no matter how you move it.
- Perfect for straight tracking shots or highly controlled shots.
- F – Follow (Full follow-up)
- The pan and tilt axes follow the movement of the handle.
- The roll axis remains stabilised.
- Ideal for more dynamic and creative movements.
- POV – Point of View
- The three axes (pan, tilt, and roll) follow the movement of the handle.
- It allows you to capture more natural movements, such as diagonal turns.
- Great for simulating the character’s perspective or for immersive shots.
- Vortex Mode (Tornado)
- The camera can rotate 360° on the roll axis.
- Used for spiral effects or highly stylised flat effects.
- Requires placing the gimbal in ‘underslung’ mode (inverted mode).
- Go Mode
- It responds very quickly to the operator’s movements.
- Ideal for capturing fast-paced action, sports, or situations where you need a lot of responsiveness.
- It is activated by pressing and holding the ‘Go’ button.
Additional modes and useful features:
- Selfie Mode: Press the mode button three times and the gimbal will rotate 180º to film you directly.
- Standby mode: Press and hold the power button to put it into standby mode without turning it off.
- Underslung mode: Changes the position of the handle to record from low angles.

Microphones for capturing high-quality sound
Sony ECM-B10
This shoe microphone is small but powerful, and it’s one of my favourite accessories: quality and coverage. You attach it to the camera shoe and forget about it, as it has its own power supply when connected to the camera and doesn’t need batteries or a battery pack. It’s a real joy, to be honest.
Capture clear audio with different directionality modes and no cables required, ideal for spontaneous moments.
Wireless microphones
For voices during ceremonies or speeches, I use these wireless microphones. They are easy to use, have good coverage, and work without interruptions.

These are the third tier of my equipment for recording wedding videos. They are not essential items, but they add a touch of quality to my final work.
